Shelterhouse is a non-profit organization committed to provide safety, shelter, advocacy and counseling to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Serving both Midland and Gladwin counties, our efforts remain focused on the goal to eliminate violence in today's society.
Our survivor services are partially funded through the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board, the Crime Victim Services Commission, and the United Way of Midland and Gladwin Counties. We are a member of the Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
In 2010, the Greater Midland Community was named one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People in America. We are happy to do our part to continue to build a community that is attractive and a safe place for people to live.
The mission of the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (Shelterhouse) is to eliminate domestic and sexual violence by providing advocacy, education and shelter to people in Midland and Gladwin counties.
