Endowment Fund

You are invited to become a Shelterhouse donor. The support of our donors helps us serve women, children, teens and men everyday. This past year we served 1058 individuals and provided prevention services to another 9045 people. However, the numbers don't begin to tell the many stories of hope and healing that we hear each day.

Shelterhouse has established an endowment fund at Chemical Bank. The endowment fund is one step in addressing the long range financing concerns of our organization. We are excited about the potential that a Shelterhouse endowment might have on our financial stability. We want to ensure that services to victims of violence continue into the future beyond our lifetimes. With increasing demand for services and dwindling support from state and federal grants, we need the endowment to help us continue our services. Our goal is to initially build the endowment to $2 million.

The Midland Area Community Foundation also holds an endowment fund for Shelterhouse. Giving to the community foundation provides excellent tax advantages beyond the normal charitable deductions through the State of Michigan Tax Credit. Contributions to this endowment fund need to be made directly to the Midland Area Community Foundation with the Shelterhouse endowment fund marked as the recipient of your donation.
